Access Holdings crosses N1 trillion in pre-tax profit for the first time
The group paired a 16.2 percent profit increase with faster deposit growth and a lower cost-to-income ratio in its 2025 accounts.

Access Holdings reported profit before tax of N1.01 trillion for 2025, crossing the trillion-naira threshold for the first time and rising 16.2 percent from N867 billion in the previous year.
Net interest income reached N1.36 trillion, while net fees and commission income rose 40.9 percent to N585.1 billion. Operating income after impairment increased 23.9 percent to N3.17 trillion.
Deposits grow faster than assets
Total assets expanded 24.3 percent to N51.57 trillion and customer deposits climbed 53.4 percent to N34.56 trillion. Shareholders' funds rose 15 percent to N4.33 trillion, while the cost-to-income ratio improved to 51.7 percent from 56.7 percent.
The group described the year as a shift from scale toward value and efficiency. The next test is whether it can convert the larger deposit franchise into consistent returns without allowing impairment charges or operating complexity to absorb the benefit.
