DP World and TGI partner to strengthen Nigeria logistics
DP World and TGI Group are joining forces to expand integrated logistics services in Nigeria, with TGI set to take an equity stake in DP World Logistics Limited to support trade growth across West Africa.

DP World and Nigeria-based Tropical General Investments have formed a partnership to strengthen logistics capabilities in Nigeria, combining DP World's global supply chain expertise with TGI Group's extensive distribution network to improve the movement of goods and support trade growth across West Africa. The collaboration is designed to deliver a broader range of integrated logistics solutions while creating a platform for potential expansion into other markets in the region.
Structure of the partnership
Under the terms of the agreement, TGI Group will become a shareholder in DP World Logistics Limited, DP World's Nigerian logistics entity, subject to the requisite regulatory approval. DP World will remain the majority shareholder following the transaction. The partnership was announced on October 1, 2026, and is intended to enhance the services that DP World Logistics Limited already provides to customers in Nigeria without disrupting existing operations or commitments.
DP World Logistics Limited has an established footprint in Nigeria, particularly in market access across the healthcare and consumer sectors, alongside a growing logistics presence. Through the business, services will continue to include road freight and contract logistics, with plans to enhance these offerings and explore new solutions, including fourth-party logistics. DP World will also provide logistics and operational support services to TGI Group to help improve supply chain efficiency and optimise its operations.
Combining complementary strengths
The partnership brings together DP World's global logistics infrastructure and supply chain capabilities with TGI Group's deep market knowledge, strong market presence and extensive distribution network across Nigeria and West Africa. TGI Group is a diversified conglomerate with more than four decades of operations spanning agriculture, food processing, fast-moving consumer goods manufacturing, distribution, chemicals, poultry farming, real estate and financial services. Its portfolio of household brands reaches millions of consumers across West Africa, supported by large-scale manufacturing and distribution operations and a workforce of over 25,000 people.
By leveraging these complementary strengths, the combined business aims to deliver more resilient and efficient supply chains that can better connect Nigerian businesses to regional and global markets through DP World's wider network. The initial focus is on Nigeria, but the partners have indicated that the collaboration provides a platform for expansion across West Africa over time, in line with efforts to strengthen regional trade integration.
Strategic rationale for trade development
For DP World, the partnership represents another step in its long-term commitment to Africa, where Nigeria is viewed as one of the continent's most important economies and a critical market for the future of trade. For TGI Group, the alliance offers access to DP World's global logistics capabilities and technical expertise to scale its distribution and supply chain operations while supporting the broader ambition of building more integrated trade infrastructure on the continent.
The transaction structure builds on an earlier agreement involving UAC of Nigeria, which announced in September 2026 its intention to sell its 43 per cent stake in DP World Logistics Limited to 22 Plus Invest Limited, a member of TGI Group, subject to regulatory approval. That proposed acquisition paved the way for TGI Group to take an equity position in the business and set the stage for the wider strategic partnership now being implemented.
With growing demand for efficient logistics to support Nigeria's expanding consumer markets, cross-border trade within West Africa and access to international markets, the partnership is positioned to help address longstanding supply chain bottlenecks. By strengthening last-mile and regional distribution capabilities and enhancing connectivity to global trade networks, the collaboration aims to unlock new opportunities for businesses and to contribute to broader economic growth in Nigeria and across West Africa.
