Endeavor Catalyst has closed an oversubscribed $320 million fifth fund, taking assets managed by the co-investment platform above $850 million.

Fund V includes seven Nigerian companies in its portfolio, among them Flutterwave, Moniepoint and LemFi. Across Africa, the fund has invested in 29 companies in five markets, according to Endeavor's Nigerian office.

A co-investment model

Endeavor Catalyst invests in financing rounds led by other venture-capital firms and limits its eligible pipeline to companies run by entrepreneurs in the Endeavor network. That model gives the fund access to screened founders while leaving price-setting and round leadership to external investors.

Across its markets, the platform reports a portfolio of 437 companies in 44 countries, including 83 businesses that have reached billion-dollar valuations. Those headline valuations are not the same as realised returns, which depend on exits and the prices achieved.

What it means for Nigerian founders

The close adds capital at a time when venture funding has become more selective and investors are placing greater weight on unit economics, governance and a credible path to cash generation.

For Nigerian companies, access will remain narrow because the fund backs Endeavor entrepreneurs and follows qualified lead investors. Its significance is the additional capacity to join larger rounds when eligible businesses demonstrate regional or global scale.
