Aradel Holders Sit on Doubling Gains as Analysts See Room to Run
Investors in Aradel Holdings are sitting on gains after the share price roughly doubled, with analysts arguing that refining performance and asset quality still leave room for further upside.

Aradel Holdings shareholders have watched the value of their holdings roughly double as the integrated energy company's shares have charged higher on the Nigerian Exchange, and analysts covering the stock argue the rally is not yet finished.
The move makes Aradel one of the year's marquee energy-sector performers, reflecting investor confidence in the company's refining, gas and power assets following its transition to a broader post-Listed structure and the operating momentum of its refining business.
Why the market re-rated Aradel
Domestic refining capacity has become a central theme in Nigerian markets after years of import dependency. Companies that can process crude locally, supply refined products and capture margins across the value chain have attracted a re-rating, and Aradel sits at the centre of that narrative.
Portfolio managers have also pointed to the quality of the company's asset base — refining, gas processing and power generation — as a reason to look beyond a simple oil-price beta when valuing the stock.
The case analysts still make
Coverage notes published this week argue that despite the doubling, valuation still does not fully reflect the company's medium-term cash generation potential, particularly if refined product output keeps climbing and domestic fuel pricing remains supportive.
The counter-argument, voiced by more cautious allocators, is that a doubling in share price within a year often prices in a great deal of good news. Any stumble in refining throughput, maintenance schedules or product margins could produce a sharp unwinding, especially in a market that has just logged its third consecutive weekly decline.
Positioning into results season
With full-year reporting season approaching, Aradel is expected to remain in focus for both energy-focused funds and generalist NGX investors. The company's disclosed throughput numbers, energy sales volumes and cash generation will decide whether the "room to run" thesis survives contact with the accounts.
