United Capital approves N18 billion dividend after record 2025 profit
Shareholders approved a final 70-kobo payment, taking the full-year distribution to N1 per share after an interim dividend.

United Capital shareholders approved total dividends of N18 billion for the 2025 financial year after the investment group reported record profit after tax of N28.15 billion.
The distribution comprises a final dividend of 70 kobo per share, or N12.6 billion, and an interim dividend of 30 kobo per share paid at half-year. At N1 per share in total, the payout was 25 percent above the N14.4 billion distributed for 2024.
A larger payout, with capital needs still in view
The approved dividend gives investors a direct cash return from the year's earnings, but it also reduces the profit retained to fund future growth. The balance matters for a financial group operating across investment banking, asset management, securities and trusteeship.
The final payment was subject to withholding tax and the register conditions announced in the company's corporate action. Investors should distinguish the full-year N1 dividend from the 70-kobo final instalment.
